Goodbye Aethy

Aethy.com on Mastodon is shutting down. If I understand correctly, this is an act of obedience in advance to legislation that may be passed by Trump et al, but it's also coming after a lot of harassment and trouble over the entire livespan of Aethy. :(

I considered making a new account on another instance, but ultimately decided against it. I never used Mastodon much, and it never felt quite right.
I cannot interact with some users on other servers because our respective mods have beef and blocked each other - that's ridiculous, it shouldn't be my problem, but it is, all the time! And so the sprawling Fediverse is reduced to one server and whoever you're graciously allowed to see by your mod. Feels bad.
But it doesn't matter anymore.

I really hate what's happening to the internet right now.
