Snowflake Challenge Day 9 (and 7)

I skipped some challenges, but I actually did #7 and commented on some fics I read. Did not feel worthy of its own post though. Anyway, on to #9!
Challenge #9
In your own space, celebrate a personal win from the past year: it can be a list of fanworks you're especially proud of, time you spent in the community, a quality or skill you cultivated in yourself, something you generally feel went well. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have a fandom related and a personal thing I did last year.
1) I joined dreamwidth! I want to be more active in fandom communities and actually talk to people. I know it’s objectively not the most difficult thing to make a free account on a website. But I have a hard time coming out of my shell, so I’m proud of every little bit.
2) I took my boyfriend on a trip to Paris. I don’t travel often and this was actually the first vacation I planned and organized all by myself. So I was irrationally scared something would go wrong lol. Also my French is bad and rusty and I was scared it wouldn’t be good enough. But everything went great! Got Tintin merch out of it too.

on 2023-01-18 06:31 pm (UTC)Yay for that! It sometimes can be a bit daunting to start a new account on an unfamiliar site. Finding new friends at the beginning also isn’t so easy. But I’ve found DW to be a fun site where one can post at their own pace, not algorithm and followers demanding content etc. It’s kinda chill and also easier to have actual conversations.
I do tend to feel the need to make longer posts here, though. XD
Congrats on planning a successful trip! I’ve never been to Paris and can’t speak the language at all. XD But I think it would be a lovely trip to see the sights – it’s even easily reachable from where I live, I could go by train. I’ve always enjoyed planning holiday trips. :D

We also took the train!
Highly recommend the TGV, it is super fast and punctual. Unlike DB.
